I come across a strange viewpoint about the partition of Sub-Continent. I found it very eccentric as I never heard, read or even thought about any such thing.

US led allied forces were emerged as a clear cut winner of the World War II. Britain suffered major loses both in the UK and other Colonies. The Indian Empire (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) suffered 1,500,000 civilian casualties, more than the UK. It also contributed about 2,500,000 personnel and suffered 87,000 military casualties, more than any Commonwealth country other than the UK. UK had no option but to liberate those colonies as they didn’t have power and resources to rule them. And US was also forcing them to give autonomy to the Indian Empire. The reason behind that is a deduced fact from history, ‘Who rules the Indian Ocean, rules the World’. As UK didn’t want to give enough powers to any other region which can stand against it in future, they decided to break the region into several small parts. As a result there are at least 3 countries fighting with each other for their supremacy or endurance in the region.

According to that person, the role of Jinnah, Gandhi and other leaders was nothing but supplementing the cause of Britain. Now this theory opens yet another debate on the legitimacy of the whole partitioning process. One thing I know for sure that politics is a gutter and no one is clean here, so anything is possible.

what a dreadful week…phew! thanx God its over. I’m getting sick of my habit of carrying over my sleep for the whole week…I just cant go to the bed earlier then my usual time and I just cant take a nap at any other time of the day. And at the end of the week, I feel so weary and lethargic that the weekend spends only in sleeping and resting. And the sitting with friends till late hours and long walks…they only have the ruining effect. I used to walk for 2-3 hours in my uni days. But at that point in time I had ample time for various activities. But now with work, I hardly get 3-4 hours of leisure time, which usually spent infront of the tv or reading a book. A friend is on vacations (that’s what he tells everyoneJ) these days, so we planned to restart the old habit of walking. But we definitely over did it; at one point we both realized it and decided to shorten the distance from today. But I’m not sure if I can go with him today coz I have some work to do and I think I have to sit late in the office. And I’m already so sleepy that I don’t think I can do any work…but I have to…zzzZZZzzz

Now tell us what have u done actually? and all of us broke into laughs.

I asked this when I was sitting with 3 of my group mates in uni and now good friends. We sat together after months and for such a wrong reason. One of us is stuck into something which we never think of. He is now somewhat underground to save his family and himself from any further damages.

Whole story begins when his family needed the portion of the house which was given on rent. And when the tenant was asked to vacant the house at the end of the contractual period, instead of emptying, they lodged a complaint against him in the UC. The worst is that his father was having cardiac problems and had to undergo a major bypass operation. He got a summon from the UC. When he went to the UC office, he got to know the charges against him; giving the threats of kidnapping the daughter of the tenant, raping her and what not. He was dumbfounded when he heard all that. The first thing he did was called a friend whose father is a MPA. He restraint the matter only to the UC, otherwise once the FIR would be lodged, he was in deep trouble. Troubles are not over though as the matter is still in the conciliation committee. The tenant has the backings of a DSP, and the chairman of the committee seems to be favoring them as well. how atrocious!

One friend suggested to to use the power of monay…huh! He thinks that in propety matters, monay is a big deciding factor. Lets see how the matter unfolds in the coming days. I hope its justice who comes out as a winner.

Nokia E65 February 15, 2007

I came across a cell phone from Nokia which doesn’t seem to have anything missing in it. Ya, i’m talking about a Nokia phone! It’s strange though, as every previous one has at least one feature lacking in it or at least one which is really messed up, though in most cases the number is more than one. It seems like it is a ploy by the Nokia sales/marketing team not to produce a phone which satisfies every user, so that nobody satesfies with one and keep changing their cell phones.

The Dark Age (black n white) models from Nokia were pretty good in comparison with other cell phone producing companies but then there were no Sony Ericsson or Samsung. Now with the novelty of Sony Ericsson and the sleek designs of Samsung, Nokia phones are nothing more then a second class. Models like 8800 and 6111 r complete disasters. Once I asked a salesman about the market response of 6111, and the answer describes it all. He said, “yeh models un larkioon ki tarah hain jo rishtay k intezaar may ghar bethay bethay borhi ho jati hain”, and thats so true.

The N series and E series have better designs, augmented quality and number of features. At last they’ve managed to produce one which certainly will fight the lonely battle. Nokia E65 has big screen size and rich colors (I’ve never seen any phone with that much color depth). Its loaded with connectivity options, GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, 3G, WLAN what not. And with the built-in Office Applications, u don’t have to pay Microsoft a penny, which in any case we r not gonna pay…rapid share zindabad. Its not yet available in Pakistan though, but it is definitely gonna be my next cell phone.
